Configuration Options determine how SAM Intercept works on your Macintosh. Choose your Protection level, select a Startup Bypass Key, or decide when the icon appears at startup. The 'Alert on attempt to' area contains the protection categories that SAM checks when in custom level. Click in a check box to turn a category on or off. 'Format without dialog' alerts you to attempts to format a volume without the standard format dialog. 'Create application' alerts you to attempts to create an application or a System 7 desk accessory file. 'Add "special" file' alerts you to attempts to add debugger or disassembler files to a system folder. 'Modify "special" file' alerts you to attempts to change certain particular system-type files. 'Modify SAM Intercept' alerts you to attempts to change, move, rename, or delete SAM Intercept. 'Bypass SAM Intercept' alerts you to attempts to modify files by bypassing SAM Intercept's safeguards. 'Bypass file system' alerts you to attempts to modify a volume without going through the Macintosh File System. 'Bypass resource handler' alerts you to attempts to modify a resource file without going through the Macintosh Resource Manager. 'Move startup document' is not applicable under System 7. 'Add startup document' alerts you when an attempt is made to change the filetype of a file to INIT, cdev, or RDEV. 'Change startup resource' alerts you to attempts to change certain startup code resources to files in any system folder. 'Change code resource' alerts you to attempts to change certain code-type resources in any resource file. 'Add startup resource' alerts you to attempts to add certain startup code resources to files in any system folder. 'Add code resource' alerts you to attempts to add certain code-type resources to any resource file. 'Protection' lets you choose one of SAM Intercept's five levels of protection. SAM Intercept monitors your system differently depending which protection level you chose. 'Startup Bypass Key' lets you choose one of the bypass keys. When you hold that key at startup, SAM Intercept will not load. 'Startup Icon' determines if and when the SAM Intercept icon appears on your screen during system startup. Click Cancel to clear any changes you made during this session in the Configuration Options dialog box. Click Save to record all changes made in the Configuration Options.
